About me

David Crane

Age: 42

Originally from Hampshire, but I've been living in and around Harrogate since 1994.

My interest in radio comes from many years of making compilation tapes and CD's using old 60's radio jingles to link the music. I have had a strong passion for music all my life and I'm rarely without a music player of some type. I was a Mod/Scooterboy through the 1980's and I have been involved in many different music scenes over the years, but with a constant alliance to the Scootering scene.

My earliest memories of music date back to the early 70’s when we'd sit down for Sunday lunch as a family and listen to Jimmy Savile's 'Double Top Ten' show on Radio 1. Each week would be songs from 2 different charts from the 50’s and 60’s, and I’d tap my feet and sing along to the ones I knew. I learned a lot of my early musical knowledge from listening to that radio show.

I started presenting shows on Harrogate Hospital Radio in March 2007, ranging from request shows to my own 50's & 60's oldies show. I started presenting shows on internet stations during the 2nd half of 2008 and have had shows aired on several stations online since then.

At present I broadcast on internet station, Ace Radio.
